National Academy of Medicine: At the request of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research and the Office of the Director (NIH), a consensus study assessed the current state of TMD research, education, care, and its public health significance. The committee identified multidisciplinary approaches necessary to the development and implementation of safe and effective clinical treatments for TMD, as well as strategies to advance TMD research and education (posted 2024).
