Overview<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (DC\/TMD), by Schiffman et al, are available in the\u00a0Journal of Oral & Facial Pain and Headache, 2014<\/a>.\u00a0 The DC\/TMD is intended for use in both clinical settings and applied research settings.\u00a0 Schiffman et al describe the rationale and methodology underlying the changes from the RDC\/TMD to the DC\/TMD.\u00a0 The extensive development process can be explored in\u00a0in greater detail.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0Further research examining core properties is expected, and forthcoming additional DC\/TMD research tools are intended to augment the DC\/TMD for such research.\u00a0\u00a0All tools<\/u>\u00a0required for clinical implementation are available on this page.\u00a0 The DC\/TMD tools are living documents, and revisions are managed by the Consortium Network; the most current version will always be available here.<\/p>\n

Translations<\/strong><\/h4>\n

(Updated 6\/11\/2016) Early translated versions (Dutch, Spanish, and Swedish) of the DC\/TMD were developed in order to test the adequacy of the English source documents and some of these versions have also been used in examiner training, calibration, and reliability field trials. Chinese, Dutch, Finnish, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Swedish and Turkish are now\u00a0available<\/a>\u00a0for download, and the following will be available soon: Arabic, Hebrew, and Portuguese (PT). Consortium members are actively working on these translations: Danish, Farsi, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean,\u00a0Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, and Thai.\u00a0 Other languages that have been initiated include Daija, Estonian, German, Greek, Malaysian, Nepali, Norwegian, Polish, Slovenian, and Vietnamese.\u00a0Please contact the team leaders on\u00a0this list<\/a>\u00a0for more information about a translation, and please contact us if your language of interest is not yet included and you would like to request permission to do a translation.
